Derdengelden is a separate trust that has been established to oversee the management of these funds. The purpose of this is twofold:

Why does my bank statement say Buckaroo?
The money of your payment is for the online retailer, but we receive it on trust fund account Stichting Derdengelden. For more information, visit http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derdengelden.
This does not mean that Buckaroo has access to your payments. The incoming payments are processed in the (online) administration of the online retailer and consequently paid out to him. The online retailer can also send the money back via our automated systems (in case the ordered products are out of stock or the consumer sends the product back). If this is the case, consumers will also see Buckaroo in their bank account statement. As Buckaroo only processes the money and doesn’t manage it, we can’t send money back ourselves.
How do I check if I can buy safely on a website?
All information of the Dutch government is available on: http://www.consuwijzer.nl/elektronica/kopen-op-afstand/betrouwbaarheid-webwinkel. Always check the reliability of the store before you buy
What does Buckaroo do to ensure I can shop online safely?
Before an online retailer can use our payment services, we check the reliability of the online store and the owner. We check their reliability periodically, following strict procedures. We leave no stone unturned when it comes to making online shopping as safe as possible. Buckaroo is under supervision of Currence, licence holder of IDEAL and de Nederlandsche Bank. These institutions try their hardest to look after the needs of the consumers. They make heavy demands on our procedure, security, integrity and transparency.

Still, buying from distance remains to be associated with risks. That’s why the Dutch government publishes a website like cosumwijzer. Consumers can register the details of the online retailer at the moment of purchase, in order to see with whom the purchase agreement is done. This is very important in case of a dispute.
I have ordered and paid for something, but nothing was ever delivered. What should I do?
Buckaroo handles many payments for many online retailers. The overwhelming majority of payments occur without problems, but it’s always possible something went wrong somewhere along the line, causing you to not receive the goods you had ordered.
Many things can cause a failure in delivery. If you have a complaint or a question, firstly contact your online retailer. Look for the contact details on the website of the retailer or at the payment confirmation sent to you by email. Don’t trust web stores on which these details cannot be found.
I have contacted the online store, but I can’t reach them or am displeased for a different reason. What can Buckaroo do for me?
Should you not come to a satisfactory agreement with the online retailer you can send your question or complaint to info@buckaroo.nl. Send us your order confirmation and the complaint you sent towards the online web store. Buckaroo can’t deliver the product, nor can it refund your money, but it does follow a clear complaint procedure that in many cases help solve the complaints.

Firstly, Buckaroo sends your complaint to the online retailer, always provided with deadline within which the complaint should be resolved.
In most cases, the online retailer resolves the problem by either refunding the money or sending the products. By law, the online store is permitted 30 days to come to a solution. It is important that the online retailer informs not only the consumer but also Buckaroo on the way he will resolve the complaint.

In exceptional cases, the online retailer does not succeed in finding a solution, and should there be reasons to assume there are problems with the online store (such as multiple customer complaints within a short amount of time), Buckaroo can disable the account of the web store, after which it is no longer possible for the store to accept payments through our systems. In these cases, Buckaroo will only consider resuming their payment services when the online shop proves to have resolved the complaint correctly.

Buckaroo doesn’t give out contact details of web shops that aren’t on the website of the web shop itself at the moment of the transaction. Buckaroo will keep on pressurizing the shop owner to resolve the complaint and Buckaroo will aid in police research, if needs be.

Should you, after following the steps above, still have not received either your product or your money back, we recommend reporting this to the police.
