Buckaroo connects with Shopware
Buckaroo has launched a Shopware plug-in with diverse payment methods, including iDEAL, PayPal and credit card. Application developer Sition designed the Shopware payment plug-in. Buckaroo has noticed that there’s an increasing demand for Shopware. This ecommerce software of German origin is becoming more and more popular in The Netherlands. What are Shopware’s distinctive features?
It’s all about the experienceShopware is an open source software that presents itself as an easily accessible alternative for Magento. Its framework, focus and target group are however completely different. In fact, comparing the two would be like comparing apples and oranges.
One of Shopware’s distinctive features is its explicit focus on branding, visuals and storytelling. In fact, you hardly recognize it as a webshop. So don’t expect simple overview pages with an abundance of products. With Shopware, it’s all about the experience: wide images and comprehensive visual possibilities. Product information is often hidden behind icons, and quick-views and pop-ups are often used. Shopware is particularly popular with brands and products that focus on experience. In fact, experience is the keyword.
Buckaroo Shopware check-outMichel Doens is the owner of Sition, which developed a Shopware plug-in for Buckaroo. Michel Doens: “The Buckaroo plug-in is available for Shopware versions 5.2 and 5.3. Integrated payment methods include: iDEAL, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, PayPal, Bancontact, Giropay and Sofort.”
Sition has already started working on a plug-in update for Buckaroo. Michel: “In the new release – which is expected to be available mid February – Klarna and AfterPay will also be accepted payment methods.”
Shopware and partnersSition is one of the first official Shopware solution partners in The Netherlands with ample experience in the design of Shopware webshops, plug-ins and customized solutions. Michel Doens, owner of Sition: “About three or four years ago, Shopware had just entered the foreign market. In order to grow within The Netherlands, Shopware was looking for web partners and thus teamed up with Sition.” This turned out to be a match made in heaven, for in 2018 Sition and Shopware are both present at the Webwinkel Vakdagen for the fourth consecutive time.
Shopware growth in EuropeShopware is growing fast, thanks to perfect timing. As it turns out, many Magento 1 uses are reconsidering what platform to use. Michel Doens: “Not everyone automatically switches to Magento 2. A lot of merchants are reorienting and see Shopware as an equivalent alternative, or even a better option.”
Michel has definitely noticed that Shopware is on the rise. This is confirmed by the fact that Shopware Community Day, a yearly event just across the Dutch border, has gradually grown with each edition. This past summer, there were about 1,600 visitors at this community day in Germany. “It’s at events like these that you fully grasp the enormity of the platform.”
Who are typical Shopware users?Michel: “It’s mostly online marketeers that use Shopware. The main reason being that with Shopware, you’re the one that’s in control. You can easily adjust things with a drag & drop editor. You want to add a video to your website? Just drag & drop a YouTube video. You hardly need any technical knowledge or support to design or edit pages. Thus, marketeers can design a landing page, category page or product page all by themselves, without any technical support.”
Shopware is suitable for independent entrepreneurs as well as big brands. They offer an Enterprise version with a specific module: the B2B-suite. “It’s a comprehensive solution for the fast-growing B2B ecommerce market”, says Michel Doens.
